What this content is

Shift & Sole publishes consumer gear research: comparisons of published manufacturer specifications against the practical demands of a long shift, plus reported failure modes drawn from owner feedback. It is editorial opinion and informational content.

We have not worn, used or physically tested the products described on this site. That is stated on every page and in full on how we pick. Treat our guides as a shortlist to evaluate yourself, not as a substitute for trying a product on or reading the manufacturer’s own current documentation.

Not medical advice

Nobody at Shift & Sole holds a nursing, medical, podiatric or allied-health credential, and nothing on this site is medical advice. Pages touching foot pain, swelling, compression levels, circulation or veins are consumer gear information only. They are not a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a substitute for professional care.

If you have persistent pain, swelling that does not resolve, one-sided swelling, or any symptom you are concerned about, see a clinician. Never delay seeking care because of something you read here, and never choose a compression level against clinical advice you have been given.

Accuracy, prices and availability

We work hard to be accurate and we correct errors in place with a dated note (see our editorial policy). We still cannot guarantee that every specification is current: manufacturers revise products without notice, and published figures sometimes contradict each other, which we flag where we find it.

We display no prices. Prices and availability are set by the retailer and change constantly. Every price element on this site links to the current price at Amazon, and whatever you see there at the moment of purchase is what applies.

We link to manufacturer pages, standards bodies, retailers and other publications. We do not control them and we are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement of everything else on that site.

Intellectual property

The text, structure, scoring framework and original photography selection on this site belong to Selena Hann. You are welcome to quote a short excerpt with a link back. Reproducing whole pages, scraping the site, or republishing our content as your own is not permitted.
